A Better Way to Clean
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler
—Albert Einstein
I believe giving people simple tools and clear information empowers them to improve their health, the health of their families, and their communities.
Age of Information, Age of Confusion
More than any other group, parents use the Internet to find out how to keep our children healthy and happy. But too much information can be as bad as too little. Simple questions often return complicated and conflicting answers or answers that may be impractical.
The Media That Cried Wolf
Today’s news media operates under the assumption that it is necessary to scare us to get our attention. We are subjected to graphic descriptions of the latest super germs and deadly infections such as SARS, Mad Cow disease and the Bird Flu.
Restoring the Balance
I have created this blog as an alternative to the readily available misinformation; an accessible source of simple, practical, good enough solutions for the very real problems of health, hygiene, and infectious disease. My focus is preventing infectious disease but I may touch on related topics. I am committed to addressing problems with a solutions that are as simple as possible, but not simpler.
Everyday health and hygiene should be a balance between doing too much, and doing nothing at all. Somewhere between everything and nothing, is a simple, and rational “good enough” solution that fits nicely into our hectic, busy lifestyles.
I’ll provide insight into common health concerns, current media stories, and provide tools that will empower you to make healthy, well-informed choices for yourself and your family.
This site is devoted to you, your health and your well-being. I look forward to your comments, participation and suggestions.
